Class D Operations

 

Human external load or “Class D” operations involve suspending crews under a helicopter on either a fixed line or a dynamic hoist. These operations allow Great Slave Helicopters to move crews safely and efficiently into areas that would otherwise be inaccessible. Class D is also used extensively for Search & Rescue (SAR).
